P.A.R.E.N.T.S Poem by Marla Smith

P.A.R.E.N.T.S

My mind isn’t here
It’s with you
I may be here physically
But not mentally
It’s thinks about you
As I’m sitting here
I’m being yelled at
For being with you they don’t understand what it is like to love someone who is hated
By the people in my house
I don’t know what to do anymore
I love you so much
Why are they keeping me from you
I can’t take this pain anymore
I’m going to do something about it
I’m going to let you go
I know it hurts
Because I cry for you
All I want to do is hear your voice
And to tell me it will be alright
All I want is you
To hear you
To see you
For you to be here with me
I know you want to know why I did it
One word
Parents
I will always love you
And you will never be replaced
Remember
One word
Parents
