'Pa ' Poem by debbie gregory

The years have passed since you departed
the reality of it has only now just started
to think that you will no more be there
is hard to think of and harder to bare

The tears have flowed the hearts have ached
the healing process now they must make
the sorrow and grieving caused by your leaving
has left us with hearts so sad

Your memory we hold with high respect
your love for us we will never forget
At night with my children by my side
we look up at the stars so bright

As we looked up my daughter did say
'PA' died and went away
then with excitement she did see
the brightest star and yelled
' LOOK THERES MY PA '

So now at night when the kids
see that star they all say the same
And think its 'PA'
The memories they have of you are few
the love they feel
if only you knew

I think in their minds its their way of saying
even though you past away
the memories of you will always stay

Each time they look up at the brightest star
they will always remember you as their 'PA'
