Paddington Poem by stewart green

Paddington

Separated in Peru
What’s a bear to do?
Who knew this untimely spell
Would some day bode you well

For a Stately Englishmen
Found you by that bin
They took you in
Back when you were thin

Grooming your mind
Fattening your behind
Preparing you for this day
Showing you the way

Now you have life to live
And lots of love to give
Imortalised on the pages
Captivating all ages

Still you live in others
As love handles on lovers
Seeking more marmalade
Than you should Energade

But if you were to thin
Right down like some pin
How would we know
It’s you stealing the show?

So dear girl leave my padding
Even though the front is sagging
It’s a sign of eating well
Living life by taste and smell
