The air so clear and crisp
The night so dark and cold
So familiar feeling this
Full of memories new and old

The darkness on the inside
The coldness grasps the heart
It's unstoppable as the tide
It never from me will part

The world all gray and black
Mind and heart just the same
It never cuts me any slack
Always fills me with that pain

Yet I do recall the light
Of the love in me so strong
It always felt so right
How could it go wrong?

I ask you if it's okay
For me to love you still
I just always need to say
Love you forever I will

When the worst was all there was,
My life was oh so dark,
Your eyes set me a buzz
My love was not a lark

The touch of your skin,
Your eyes so dark and deep
Placed me where I've never been
Gave me dreams to fill my sleep

The scent of your hair,
The hugs so tight and sure
Made me more then care,
Made me love you strong and pure

I'm sorry for this poem
I know that you don't need
This to invade your home
Or upset your peace indeed

I'm so full of the longing
For that light I once knew
I can't keep myself from wronging
The one I love as you
