Pancakes Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Pancakes

The day has just begun
with the rising of the sun
Time to mix the batter
gently... don't want to splatter

Determine what must be done
start logically with number one...
with the griddle medium hot
pour a portion of what you've got

Reserve the rest in the bowl
Remember to think of your goal
Others must be nourished too
satisfied all…not just you

Know when to carefully flip
Do so with an agile grip
Soon the pancakes accumulate
upon patient porcelain plates

Apply syrup and melting butter
A first taste will set hearts a flutter
The smiles after the last bite tell...
You did well… you excelled
