Paper Boat Poem by Ferdinand L Quintos

Paper Boat

We watched a paper boat
on the river afloat,
we followed it totter
‘midst a mass of litter,
before the river bend
it sank and ‘twas the end,
you said you read of it,
which you can not forget,
in prose and lots of verses
in some English classes,
then you asked with candor
its use as metaphor,
that was a hay maker,
no word I can mutter,
but fast I recovered
and I have deciphered
what paper boat is for
when used as metaphor,
it stands for frailty
to fight difficulty,
