Paradise Lost Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

Paradise Lost

Away from you give pangs of separation,
Days and nights bring nothing but desperation.

Life turned into a disastrous living hell,
Miserable, morbid, sordid tale to tell.

Like a fish left ashore by receding sea,
Writhing in pain to send rescue plea.

Loneliness the only companion at all,
Shroud of melancholy fell upon my soul.

Last I saw you standing at your threshold,
Shimmering like a jewel in the evening gold.

Engraved in my memories your countenance,
Even closing of eyes only conjures your presence.

Eyes so limpid, brimming with love, I still miss,
Eager lips to quench my thirst with heavenly kiss.

Embrace so satisfying, never again I would get,
Complete submission, no qualms, no regret.

Words of love you spoke, ring the bell in ears,
Heart flutter and rejoice with surge of cheers.

Do come! I entreat you to shower your love again,
This is how the lost paradise a lover could regain.
