Part 3: Nebula Bride Poem by J.M Berger

Part 3: Nebula Bride

Lonelier than a single cloud in the sky
He never even got a chance to say goodbye
The view a teary haze, as the flames in the pyre rise
These monsters came and stole his love
They dissipated into the night…
Gone so fast, he wished he could sneak away after her
Just as she snuck into his life
But now he cursed the day he learned her name

Oh you can languish in anguish forever and ever
Things weren’t pleasant before but now
They’re a certified failure
Cold now, such pain
Dissonant noise, wasted rage
Sinking in a sorrowful wave
He said:
I always thought it’d sting a little
But I never thought it’d sting like this
Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all, maybe
But at least when I was empty, I didn’t know that I was
Belittled and feeling whittled down
To an unstable quaking frame
Shaking my fists at the heavens
Has everything really been in vain?

Beautiful future-queen, queen of this heart
Presently a ghost, now the tears start
To raise his glass in one final toast
To his love…
Perhaps she died
For all his past lies
Sweet nebula bride
