Part 8 - My Thank You Poem by Leslie Alexis

Part 8 - My Thank You

Do bear my yoke, for it is stronger than I,
Within I will lie and I will draw nigh,
Relaxed, here in your warmth; summer’s July
I’ll give, I’ll take, we’ll share every supply.
Because of you I am able to breathe,
How to repay this most congenial deed?
All bounties and measures you do exceed;
Therefore, my gift to you must supersede
That which was given and that which I know,
Children birth in your name I would bestow,
And I’ll take them to the highest plateau.
There in homage of you we’ll freely soar.
My words I keep, on my life have I sworn;
The eagle comes out of its shell reborn.
