Parting In Sorrow Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Parting In Sorrow

Early in the evening
before the sun was fading,
devoted lovers roamed together
down in a country glen.
Autumn leaves were falling
and pretty songbirds calling...
a brief encounter just like gold
life was glorious then.

But suddenly one daybreak
hearts collapsed for love's sake,
having to say goodbye forever...
no knowledge of this at the start.
Today their tears are flowing
cold breezes continually blowing.
All the world is grey and dark
for they live so many miles apart.
