Past Poem by Karissa Earley

Past

I try to speak out loud,
to tell you how i feel.
But you dont understand,
that this pain for me is real.

You can see it in my eyes,
read it on my face.
Trapped inside are lies,
of the past i cant erase.

when i try to tell you what happened to me,
i cant seem to breathe.
Because im afraid after you know,
you'll walk away and leave.

You'll leave like all the others,
leave without a care.
And when i need help,
i'll turn around and you wont be there.

Again,
i'll be tore.
Left with another,
unclosed door.

So if you want to know,
you'd have to feel my pain.
You'll have to know that when im done,
you wouldnt feel the same.

I wont tell anyone this secret,
ill keep it locked up inside.
Ill hold it without a thought,
forever untill i die.
