Patches Poem by Bonnie Collins

Patches

Rating: 5.0

Patches lived and patches died
Her life was not in vain, as penniless
as a pauper, her wealth of gold
lied within her heart

Along time ago, this was written
and along with its story lied a real
person who gave her life to others
to make thier life a little bit happier

So she died of lonliness and
poverty stricken, still, her dress
of many colours, designed with
all the emotion and heartaches
that represented each story
of her shortend life

If you see the yellow, you will see
how she loved to warm other people's
heart if you saw the blue you saw
the virtue which lied within her soul
when red comes to view it reveals flaming
fires with rings of orange flame that finally
took the blackness to her final destination

Sadly but true, if you look hard, you
can find a Patches in every broken
heart that walks the streets alone......

Patches of colour in the life of a person reveal different moods well in your poem!

Such a beautiful story. You did a great job with the descriptions and I especially loved the reminder at the end.
