Patrick- The Boy That Never Grew Poem by Amber Carreon

Patrick- The Boy That Never Grew

Rating: 3.5

A little babe placed in your tummy
Until he's finished growing.
A little babe you feed and nourish
As well as you possibly can.

A little baby comes out of you
And is placed in your loving hands.
A little baby-all your own,
To love until the end.

A little boy who cries when hurt;
Who laughs when he is tickled.
A little boy that screams out loud
If he feels his voice isn't heard.

A little sweetheart whose end has come,
Who will now cease to grow.
A little sweetheart without a chance
To see the world as a whole.

The sight of water causes so much pain
As each day passes by.
It never seems to get less hard
No matter what the time.

A life of agony; a broken heart
That will not seem to heal.
The thought of him being gone-
It still seems so unreal.

And then one day you turn around
And there he is, so new.
Just the way you remember him-
The boy that never grew.

His real chance of living a life
That, this time, will never end.
You and him, and him and you
Being together again.
