Pay It Forward Poem by Nicola Kelly

Pay It Forward

hear the buzz of Xmas,
Internet, catalogues, online shopping manic,
For tinsel, cards, gifts and trees,
Kerching of tills and smell of plastic.

Take time for those at Xmas,
Who are missing loved one's who've passed,
Or maybe spending it all alone,
And those where its their last.

I know this Xmas I'll be thinking,
Of all of the above not just,
About the gifts I'll be receiving,
Conscience dictates about others is a must.

I will admit like most of us,
Tis a time for friends and family,
Opening presents then after Xmas dinner,
Drinking alcohol in front of the tv.

Have a pre new year resolution,
Of one to pay it forward,
For each kind gesture and good deed,
Received to another will be offered.

Starts with something small just having,
More time even just to share,
A text, call, card or a visit,
So you know somebody really does care.
