Peacefully At Present Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Peacefully At Present

Peacefully at present

What forbids us to shun violence?
Are we afraid of devil’s presence?
Will the world face complete annihilation?
Such attitude on our part needs sensible explanation

Mind that if everything is destroyed
There shall be nothing to be conveyed
Of good intent or bad behavior
It shall all be at the cost of simple error

The super powers have got “weapons of mass destruction”
They shall need no instruction
It shall be at least threatened
At any time the fall shall be hastened

By chance, if they fall in the hands of terrorists!
They have the targets named in the list
The beautiful cities shall be lost for ever
The population shall live under constant fear

Give thought for a minute
Pray for the efforts to dilute
Such an effort that is aimed at only deterrent
The world must live peacefully at present
