Per-Aa Poem by Sheri Green

Per-Aa

There was once a time I was a ruler proud
Who reigned the land between rivers, plowed
And the arid plains of the wind blown grass
Beneath the sparse and wispy clouds

But how quickly do the sands of time pass
Far beyond our mortal bounds they surpass
Along the temporal course they have flown
As fragmented memories slip beyond my grasp

Now I lie reposed beyond a door unknown
Trapped beneath this megalithic stone
Wrapped inside my death's own shroud
Deep within this dark rune etched tomb
