Periscope Poem by Windsor Guadalupe Jr

Periscope

I saw you naked
But not physically
As if jaded in a motion picture
Of wonderful bodies.
I saw you naked
With your wounds
Like buds bursting to a
Fulminating bloom.
You are severed by the moon
I watched you unsheathe yourself
Like a bare bone of
A clothed sparrow.
You took turns with the shadows
In parrying the stifling wind
And when you were elusive,
I saw you, in my ensconced position.
I gazed at you mazily,
In a full aperture
And you were damaging yourself
Mindlessly, viciously
That you made me want to flee
My deception point
And cradle you in my arms
And kiss your rosy cheeks
And hide you safe inside my pillars -
Never to be seen by anyone but my own eyes
But that’s impossible
Because you are an immense sea
And I do not know how to whirl.
Let me view you here,
This is how I cope.
Let me view you here,
Using my dredging periscope.
