Persepone's Goodbye Poem by Cherryl Delan

Persepone's Goodbye

Falling leaves dance
as the wind commands.
Autumn, oh Autumn!

Bold colours!
Defiance!
Leaves strew in cold ground.

Fiery skies-
Sun glows a fierce orange
in crisp morning.

Shared laughter
basking in sunlight-
bliss of nearness.

Midday blooms
and fades...
Somber repose, the day wanes.

Mellowed wine
sweet as Hades' kiss-
the chilly evening air!

Lazy haze,
hazy laze-
the harvest ends in quiet.

The moon watches over
in silence-
I watch her too from my window.

Naked trees, gnarled hands...
a mother laments!
the wind begins to howl.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
An attempt at a Haiku chain, but then my free-flowing style kicks in. I can't seem to follow a meter. haha
