Persian Prince Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Persian Prince

Persian prince

“Years ago…” I am told:
“A prince, arrested, was turned to, a slave…”

I followed life, actions.

He is sold in market
Master is greedy; he smart.

Contract between them
He, a self-employed to pays fees.

Prince goes to Caliph:
“The Master is cheater, with breach...”

In ears are stones, on the tongue is honey:
“Go and think, come again…”

Again turns to again and again
Till one day.

Omar is in the Mosque
Leads; prays.

Suddenly Omar feels a dagger in his side:
“This is for hypocrites.”
Says prince who is killed soon after.

Is it time to change such characters?
