Perspective Poem by Vera Pierce

Perspective

I sometimes wonder I how can I be content
As a mortal when
I remember worship constant
I remember being everything
Those that would praise me when they sing
Worship the ground I walked upon
Then I remember the slavery cast on
Myself and those I cherished
Remember watching them perish
So I'm brought back down
To this reality while I drown
This life is wondrous
When compared to less than loveless realms
It's all about perspective
Is it defective or affective?
It's all in your eyes
Whether to follow via truth or lies
