Picture In Writing- The Running Wind

The Running Wind

Based on the story of the Storm Dragon. The main character of which is Gaven. Remind yourself that he has just escaped jail after residing there for twenty-six years.

He is a half-elf so he looks to be a rather rugged and tired twenty-three year old. Gaven looks very different from his full blood cousins. He is extremely well muscled since he spent the years before his imprisonment spelunking in caves and caverns that were very far under ground looking for dragon shards. The sharp angles of the usual elf features are slightly softened and rounded thanks to his human heritage. That still doesn't lessen the air of importance that surrounds that race as it does him. It just makes him seem more approachable and welcoming to strangers that wish to get to know him. Going from right to left he is running across the page tilted forward at close to a forty degree angle. His hair, which is about shoulder blade length, flows freely behind him even though it is rather thick and dirty (or grimy which ever you prefer) . His arms are not in the usual running position (that is up and swinging with his stride) but out behind him rather straight as if they were dead weight holding him back from true flight. His hands are also limp as he runs for there is no need for him to clench them into a fist or keep his fingers straight as some runners do. His stride is very long thanks to his tall stature (about six-four) . It is even longer thanks to the wind that propels him along at super natural speeds. He is at the longest part of his stride while in mid-air seeming to float along one leg bent the other straight out behind him. The wind must be in some way visible so that you know he is being held up and pushed along. On his face is a look of pure serenity and calm. His eyes though calm in appearance must have the look of a violent and insurmountably strong storm barely being held in check They must also look like normal eyes that are a shattering shade of blue. Like they were carved from solid, pure, and clear aquamarine. His clothes must be ragged from constant use and they are snapping in the wind of his wake as he runs along. He is a veteran runner so he is running on the balls of his feet preserving the most amount of energy while going at top speed. For shoes he is wearing a rather beaten up old pair of mid-calf leather boots. The boots have a rounded square toe. He has a dragon mark on his body as well (its like a very large birthmark that comes with magical power) . The head of the dragon starts just under his jaw on the left side and covers his shoulder, some of his back, most of his chest, and three quarters of his left arm. The tail raps around his arm in ancient designs. The back round is all streaked lines that could be depicted as trees if he wasn't going so fast. The trail he is running on is a game trail in the forest that is fraught with roots, loose old leaves, and closely encroaching branches.

I hope you have liked the view of written art since I can't draw the picture particularly to my liking.
Enjoy!
