Picture Postcard Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Picture Postcard

Rating: 5.0

Tightly held
in each other’s arms

we gently
rock

back
&
forth

as the boat
rocks us gently

wave after wave

as we drift
across a sky

enter into the heart
of the mountain

that shatters
& resurrects itself

as we drift by

the reflection now

more real
than real

this our world
turned upside down

as we sail
across the heaven

drift in
& out

of each
other

and hardly breathing

a sigh
a gasp

we unlock
the clasp

unite both
land & sky

drifting drifting

into a picture
postcard

sunset.
