Yasmeen Khan

Pindar (Urdu)

Tumhen dawa hey ke tum
Meri ankhon ke talism me jhank sakte ho
Mere lehje ki khushboo pechante ho
Meri sochon ke dairon mein safar ker sakte ho
Aur mein khamosh rahoon to lafz tum tak
Pahonch jate hein
Mein kion kahoon tum se
Ke mujhe faqt tumhare chand lafzon
Aur zer-e lab muskrahat ke zarrorat hey
Jo meri rooh ke gulabon par shabnam si
Gira deti hey
Mein kion kahoon
Tum se...
Mujh se yahi keha to nehi jata!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

When I read many beautiful Urdu verses by Shazia Batool and Farah Ilyas, I was prompted to search some raw lines in Urdu from my diaries and re-do them to put on these pages. But I would request my dear friends to help me improve if they find any typo because I've forsaken Urdu for many years, (though I still love my language)
