Pink Slip Poem by Christine A Kysely

About two years ago today...
A day like any other day...
My whole entire world
was turned
Upside down.

My Job was eliminated on that day...
My Health Care was taken away
and nothing...nothing...NOTHING
has ever been the same.

Since I got the pink slip...
it's gotten harder every day
and even the skies
haven't looked so blue anymore.

If you read the Morning News...
they say no one should have the blues...
but when you're in the back of a welfare line...
I can tell you from experience...

No matter what they say
Things don't seem to be all that fine.
