Pitch-Poled

You can be walking along
and suddenly strike sticky stuff
and get stuck,
or you can be running along,
paying less attention,
and strike it and go head over heels.

That's called pitch-poling.
It increases the measure of stuff,

and enhances the meaning of 'pitch'
as a salesman's particular line of persuasion:

you get stuck in his stuff
when approaching at leisure,
and less attention
increases the measure.
