Translation in English:

The patriarchal view:
Mother used to visit her brother,
On Rakshaabandhan.
Her brother my maternal uncle.
At Dadar, Mumbai.
My uncles wife, my aunt,
She was the one, who fed us.
'dudhpaak' sweet more than sugar,
Uncles mothers love,
Still tasted more sweet.
Regardless of how much sugar my aunt added,
Uncles mom, my maternal grandmother,
Echo of love.
Priceless, than the price,
Of the sugars sweet.
My aunt knew,
Uncle enjoyed,
Seeing me and my family slurp,
Went ecstatic with joy.
Alas uncle is no more,
Neither is mother aunt,
Their heart still shines,
In the chests of,
Sudhakar and Praful.

Notes:

Sudhakar and Praful are the sons of My maternal uncle and his wife.
Rakshaabandhan is a festival where sisters tie a band of love and faith unto the writs of their brothers, wishing them good luck.
Dadar is a famous and infamous suburb of Mumbai.
Dudhpaak is a Gujarati sweet dish made by adding rice to milk and boiling the mix till it is thick and de luscious.
I need not explain why is a patriarchal view, matriarchal in its fundamental distillate.
