Place Your Pale Diadem Poem by Charles van Lerberghe

Place Your Pale Diadem

Place your pale diadem
Upon my head, ray
Of the pure moonlight,
And leave your white veil
Over my shoulders.

Then place your virginal
Word
Upon my lips.

And so, stay,
Leave a trail between my frail fingers,
Which I raise,
A ray,
Or the scepter of my kingdom.
