Planet That Flies Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Planet That Flies

Planet
That
Flies
Planets
So
Distant
Black
As
Flies
White
As
Milk
White
As
Flies
This
The
Soul
The
Inner Soul
That
Wills
To
Hover
That
Wills
To
Cover
The
Radii
Of
The white
Lights
Of the heavens
Of
The
Skies
Lights
That
Come
And
Go.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This poem is written in the SKINNY LINE, a term given by the poet Robert Bly to some of Neruda's ODES. Sometimes this skinny line hastens my reading which you would expect it to do. But this time - both times I read this poem I read it slowly. I think it is the subject of stars and planets, that cosmic viewpoint, which made me automatically slow down. I wanted to appreciate this vision of the larger world we inhabit, not just our planetary world, but its cosmic context. The title gives the essence of the poem - the earth truly is in flight.

Planets that fly with inner soul. Really wonderful imagery and nice composition.
