Play The Blues Poem by Alfred Ramos

Play The Blues

From my balcony, the fragrance of the night fills my shoes
Play me the blues
Stars surround the heavens, improvising, twinkling to the rules
Play me the blues
Love is hiding
Sighs subsiding
Misty memories won’t let me sleep
Love is slipping
Laughing, tripping
Stepped outside into the deep
Love is breaking
Heart is aching
Pieces fall into a heap
My room is filled with silence, it’s not what I choose
Please play me the blues
The gentle wind sweeps through my hair, what’s left to lose
Just listen to the blues
Darkness has fallen and the shadows have nothing left to choose
Except for the blues
Love is seeking
Window peeking
Trying to find the perfect song
Love is lost
But at what cost
Knowing it has to be strong
Love is tragic
Without the magic
So does that make it wrong?
So if I haven’t I paid my dues
Play me the blues
Stop this crazy dream of different views
And play me the blues
Cause I can’t take what I’m about to lose
Listening to the blues
