Playing Cheap Games. Poem by Amitava Sur

Playing Cheap Games.

Rating: 5.0

==================

As I do, you also may do,
mostly we all commit the same

We all are mostly busy
In playing some cheap games.

Suddenly, with a pause we see
Our day is at it's end.

Nothing we could really achieve
Except some personal gains! !

Being busy in filling our
Individual belly.

And in addition we were busy,
Fulfilling our hungry egos and lust.

Nothing impressive yet
We could achieve or do so far! !

But the final bell's ring!
Suddenly, we hear -
To be ringing very near.

Then you will be burnt to ashes
And I may be in a grave! !

Suddenly, with a pause we observe
Our day is at it's end.

Alas, mostly we all were busy
In playing some cheap games! !

I concur with Roseann's assessment of your poem. You reveal the same falseness in our personal lives that droveThoreau into a two year exile at Walden Pond. when he emerged, he was a different human being-living deliberately is how he put it.

A thought provoking poem. Truth brought in a very beautiful way. Very true said, its the ego which make one play the game, which never stops till one is burnt into ashes. The life which could have been lived very well, ended up playing a cheap game. Beautiful presentation. Loved reading it.
