Playing Hop Scotch Poem by Heather Burns

Playing Hop Scotch

Rating: 4.5

Dear friend
yesterday
two small girls
laughed, talked,
shared their secrets
played hop scotch on
the sidewalk
outside my window.

Today
one girl remains
all is silent
not a sound is heard
except the footsteps
on the sidewalk of
my heart.
