- Plea - Poem by Aparna Chatterjee

- Plea -

Those hazy trees
Behind the Fog,
Plead with me:
Don't cut us for
Log.

I tell them,
I'm a non-entity
Helpless in this
World of cruelty,
Maybe you should
Pray to God Almighty
Who could protect you
From being hacked for
Log, unless of course,
In this world of
Endless cruelties
Towards man, woman
Children and nature's frailties,
HE's also become powerless
And remains as mute and
Helpless a spectator as me...
