Please Come Home Soon Poem by Mark Bratlie

Please Come Home Soon

Where are you tonight
Without you I am lost
All through the night
I turned and I tossed

You are my good half
With you gone I'm not whole
Your absence leaves emptiness
Which soon takes a toll

I reach out but can't touch you
And that's just not right
As I think how your closeness
Would soften the night

I knew I would miss you
But knew not how much
As I yearn for your presence
And pine for your touch

My spirit is restless
Sensing something amiss
As spaces seem empty
Without hugs and a kiss

Please don't stay gone long
As I may not endure
For this ache deep inside
Only you have the cure

Your absence reminds me
Of the richness we share
But too much reminding
Just would not be fair

So please come home soon
That our halves may unite
As your nearness and touch
Once more makes life right
