'Please Pray'

Inside my heart, it’s pouring; down
Most every day it’s rain
But always, like a circus clown
I paint a smile again

When all alone within a crowd
I’ll stand with head held high
I’ll smile a while, I’ll laugh out loud
But in my heart I’ll cry

I cry when others dance and sing
I cry because I know
Through sin I’ve left my Lord and King
With no-where else to go

To Christ I was a precious jewel
Each day was such a thrill
Until one day just like a fool
I turned from Zion Hill

I’m too ashamed to say just why
Far too ashamed to tell
But this I know if I should die!
I’d find myself in hell

Can you my friend not pray for me?
Pray God would end my pain
Would through His love once more agree-
To take me back again

There’s no excuse for me; my friend
To God I cannot lie
I’ve seen the truth I can’t pretend
I’m so afraid to die

In torment nights, I lie awake
I rise to truth each day
Forever soon I’ll face the lake
So please my friend please pray.
