Poem 026: Aphrodite’s Lay Poem by Samer Madbak

Poem 026: Aphrodite’s Lay

I am a charm, so often seen
To be the charm of carnal looks
'Tis true, I am a lovely queen
Yet this has scribed me not in books
'Tis beauty of the soul that crowned
Me as a queen of grace and good
And every one in need who found
In me a noble sisterhood
And only this, I swear, shall give
Me strength to live, and ever live!
