Poemless Poem by Shalom Freedman

Poemless

POEMLESS

Poemless-
While inside myself
A churning restlessness
A need to write.

And now I begin-
And nothing I do,
Will be good enough.

And yet
I will write and write
Because this is my life.

Unless you have deadlines to meet, or a book to complete, don't force yourself to write; or you'll fail outright.(I mean that's what I've learned in three decades as a writer. As a multi-awarded poet in the Philippines, Gemino Abad, once said: the only criteria for a poem is the poet's happiness. Never force it or you'll kill it.)

i share the same feeling. regardless of the shortage of thoughts we must write and keep on writing without which the fear that we become nothing happens
