Poetry - Regret Poem by Alsa Haslinda bt Alias

Poetry - Regret

I am careless of my choices in life
And now there is no turning back
As my eyes, are beginning to crack
From the brightness of my life
Living in daylight

The soulfulness of my previous life
Soon shall be forgotten
There is no place for me anymore
In the world of gold and happiness called heaven

I am now amongst the night crawlers
Who craves for an eternity?
If it is not for an immortal life
It is sure trying to forget
Many horrendous past life
It is too late now, for me to regret
How foolish was I, wanting to be made
By those living at night, whom we mortals hate
Any minute now, the alleys of my life
Is beginning to fade
And then I am waiting for the sound
Of my heart to stop pounding

It is too late for me to force a cry
For not having the heart to say
It is too late to recline here
While drowning in my lover’s tears

I am humming far away
Away from the places here
While running through the sin
Of my new family of grim
