Point Of No Return Poem by Humna Hamid

Point Of No Return

Like a blinded fool
I followed the silver gossamer
through twists and turns
and ups and downs
never letting it out of sight
the little thread that binded me
dazed and delighted me
i kept it close and held it tight
living in the dreams it fed
listening to the lies it told
watching every sight it showed
alas! to my dismay
the days grew long and nights turned cold
the dreams had faded
the lies now showed
the sights were gone
alone i stood and saw myself
trapped in a shiny gossamer web

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
i think this poem can be interpreted in different ways depending on the readers but when i wrote it i was actually thinking about those thousands of women out there who keep on hoping and beleiving that a better day will eventually come instead of taking a stand and fighting and as a result find themselves in situations where there trapped and cant come out.
