Pompeii Poem by Marcel Aouizerate

Pompeii

Disappointed lover - croix de bois, croix de fer
We are receding from the eruption
In a process similar to that of universe expansion
One day everything - then nowhere
Sky full, it is lava - choses dernières
We stay close to trivia. Does it matter
- up in the air - how far the moon?
Credo, audio - last things ever
Last mail dates third November,
Noon - rises the ash moon - entière
The sky went dark with a prière
Now take care - chemin des enfers
As in paradox, Olbers - the speed of light
Struggles to make up for the distance
Dors assis, dors tard - a metaphor you were
