Pondering The Past Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Pondering The Past

Rating: 5.0

Wanting more and caring less
This is what he began to feel
Conducting a game of one handed chess
Until the final day his fate was sealed

Now it is too late to reconsider
The past is a hollow casting
Silent are the words of vigor
Mute to receptive ears… everlasting

In the tunnels of my numbed mind
Thoughts ricochet… leaving gashes
Impressions of what once was kind
Defining happiness… sifting through ashes
