Poor Iraqis Must Pay Poem by Francis Duggan

So many poor people in Iraq have died
A principle basic freedom to them has been denied
To live for to die in an natural way
For the mistakes of others with their lives they did pay
Those who talk of Iraqi freedom have got it all wrong
To those who live in fear freedom cannot belong
The invasion of Iraq it was based on a lie
For such an act of deception how many must die
The killings and maimings doubtless will go on
Long after the invaders have packed up and gone
Back to where they came from and from warring take a break
But their leaders will never admit their mistake
Of invading a Nation from their shores far away.
And for the mistakes of others poor Iraqis must pay.
