Porcelain Vase Poem by Rita Shay

Porcelain Vase

Rating: 3.3

She is a vase

Looking so strong and solid.
So beautiful with those flowers

If you take the flowers out of the vase
Then all you have is a plain, delicate vase.
Much too boring to show on its own.

And if you dropp a vase
She will break (as vases often do)
And when the delicate vase shatters into pieces
Glue will not put it back together again.

When you break a simple smooth vase
And try to pick up those sharp pointy pieces
You could easily cut your hand on her broken remains.

Hmm. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, view and concept. In the tenth line you have 'dropp' instead of 'drop'. Overall though, the imagery that comes forth in this shows the delicacy of one who in simplicity, elegantly shines brightly to everyone who sees her, but is only truly noticed when she is adorned with beauty to enhance her simplicity. Without it she is bare and barren, unnoticeable and uninteresting. And although beautiful to look at, if broken can cause so much pain to those around. Thanks for sharing and many blessings to you
