Porter Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Porter

Porter

And I know
-and knowledge is killer
-have said so many times
-I repeat, now again, forever:
-"Awareness is a pain! "
-spent time, with them, lived

So I care
Care is pain
And I do…
Yes I do…
And I should…

Look at him in picture
-is tired and needs rest

Has backpack
-for others
-is porter

Climbers of mountains
-Himalaya, Bolivia
-and the ancient tracks
-have worked with
-have borrowed
-arms, muscles
-to walk paths, go to heights

Have seen them
-carry packs
-for others
-as porter

Same way are most borders
-East, North, West
-and by sea
-for Qatar or Dubai,
-for Bahrain and Kuwait…
Shame
Shame
Shame

To Iran's government
-both past and present
-regardless which or when!

To me he
-is only example
-can see him, all of them
-in my heart and it pains

I know them
-ate with them, lived with them
-in their house, and their rooms
-I have been, dined and slept
-among them I have been
-I know their daily need
-kind of job for earning
-to feed their families
-there is none
Shame
Shame
Shame

Have seen them
-lived with them

Need leads them
-to servers
-of the lord of greed
-smuggle everything, anything

Can picture the crimes
-they sink in, may breed
-handcuffs and their arrest
-detained and a court-case
-prisons and tortures
-on the noose…wetting pants

Governments
-of Iran and elsewhere
Shame
Shame
Shame
