Power

A well-tried tactic of power
is to tempt with no chance of being caught,
then to spill the beans to bring down.

It will do this to all lesser powers than itself,
but particularly to upstarts.

If the latter happen to be on the same side,
infiltration will bring down,
more than if they don't.

It will make them think they're saying they will,
when they think they're saying they won't.

It is power, that plays the key role.
