Power's Mask Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Power's Mask

Hanging around with importance sitting silently in the air - some people put on power and wear it like a mask.
Under it all, they're only people with many cares.
All of their own and not much for others.
Allowances must be made for only them, no one else is as important as they are in their minds.
Wanting only to have the power to use for their own ends, I defy them.
They cannot use anything against me, because I have what they do not.
Insight, pure and simple, and the clue to all I am to be.
