Pracising Being Old Poem by gershon hepner

Pracising Being Old

When Casals, aged ninety-three,
was practicing Bach’s suites for cello,
someone asked him why would he
be doing this. He answered: “My dear fellow,
I do it since I notice some
improvement.” When you move towards the cold,
advancing years don’t tend to numb
the people who can practice being old.

Pablo Casals when 93 was asked why he continued to practice the Bach cello suites when he was 93 years old. He answered: “Because when I do I continue to notice some improvement.”
