Practical Or Passionate Poem by Christopher Taber

Practical Or Passionate

Shes practical
I’m passionate
Lately it has come to my attention
The two
Just
Don’t
Match

She can tell you
Where she’ll be
10 years down the road
Who knows
Where I’ll be
Tomorrow
She always
Needs
Has
A plan
I’m content
With life
She
is not
She’s gives it
All that she’s got
I
Enjoy life

The picture she paints isn’t one of passion, or intimacy
But rather
Practicality I could find anywhere, from anyone

So I guess its best
To gather up my heart
And run
Before the damage sets in
And is done
Why bother
With such a trivial thing
Such store bought love
If you want to call it
Love
Can be found anywhere

The picture she paints isn’t one of love or laughter
But rather
Function, the kind I get from my car, everyday

“So kids
Don’t miss out
Visit your local store
For the amazing price of $9.99
You can buy yourself a bore
She’s practical not passionate
Guaranteed not to argue
Not to fight
Not to kiss
Or hold you tight
Great at work
But not at play
She doesn’t even
Come home all day
She’ll work 4 jobs or even 5
And never act like she’s alive”

She made
Spontaneity
Slit its wrists
While
Freedom
Hung itself
In the bathroom
Laughter
Od’d
Looking for an escape(a way out)
Oh and
Love
was there too
Unborn
in the womb
Don’t worry
Abortion
Snuffed out that flame

Personally I’d rather take my chance with a hooker
Few hundred bucks
I’ll get more passion
More intimacy
Than
Sadly
I would
In a lifetime
With you…
