Prayer

In Christ there’s never been a day
When somewhere someone knelt to pray
Where God’s refused to share His love
For prayers are always heard above

The Lord is true! His promise real
He knows exactly how we feel
He’ll show in truth He’s ever there
If when we seek His face in prayer

A lonely soul in search of love
In search of truth and Christ above
Though lost to sin through Satan blind
Is sure the facts from God to find

We feel alone midst crowd and throng
Content to sing the devil’s song
But Satan’s wiles will profit nought
If when to Christ we turn in thought

A situation may demand
When God we need to take command
If then we turn in humble prayer
We’ll see Salvation standing there

Our time in Christ is time well spent
Though time from God is only lent
We’ll see the way; we’ll walk it well
Yet only time will ever tell

Each day has four and twenty hours
To God a tenth, the rest is ours
Yet only few hold fast this rule
If Jesus did, we’d think Him cruel

With humble heart clean hands held high
We reach to Him who cannot die
He’ll touch through grace our eager soul
Through perfect love He’ll make us whole
