Presence Poem by Diana van den Berg

Presence

You are with me
at dawn,
kissing my morning eyes open
with a heartsong touch
to my opening arms,
birthing my day’s smile.

You are here with me
exploding the bright sunlight
of noon-heart blessings
or comforting me
with long, slow-soft,
grey-green rain-caresses.

You dance my afternoon-bliss
our arms intertwined,
our voices soft-humming whispers
that we alone can comprehend.

You are everywhere with me
in the secret corners
of the night
consuming me
as I consume you.
