Pretend Poem by Veronica Litvin

Pretend

She can pretend
Pretend to love you
Give you a look that you want
Touch you the way you please
Kiss you the way you need
she can pretend
She is an evil woman
So evil, that she is sexy
She can pretend
Her smile masks the danger in her eyes
Her posture reeks of seduction
Her curves will leave you in a trance
She can pretend
But what lies behind this woman, we all wonder?
Strength, Fear, Pain, Abandon, Heartbreak, Innocence, Purity
She can pretend
But all she is; is a child
A child lost looking for purpose
Soon her script will run out of lines
And then what?
She will hide.
Creat a new manuscript, build herself up again
And walk away, pretending to be the woman she always wanted to be.
She can pretend
